Open to community readers, opera newbies and aficionados alike, Opera Book Club is a great way to discuss, learn, and connect with those who share the love of literature and opera. Selections will feature books with opera as a theme or character, or books that are the inspiration for an opera.

Discussion flows best when attendees have read the book. Light snacks will be provided.

Books can be checked out from Community Partner Omaha Public Library or purchased at The Bookworm.

Bel Canto by Ann Patchett
Ann Patchett’s award winning, New York Times bestselling Bel Canto balances themes of love and crisis as disparate characters learn that music is their only common language. The author’s lyrical prose and lucid imagination make Bel Canto a captivating story of strength and frailty, love and imprisonment, and an inspiring tale of transcendent romance.
