All The King’s Men, based upon the story that inspired the popular “Humpty-Dumpty” rhyme about a weapon of mass destruction created during the English Civil War, is a children’s opera written by the renowned film composer Sir Richard Rodney Bennett. For this production, Opera Omaha brings Omaha’s premiere performing arts and educational organizations together for a project that features young performers. Opera Omaha and the collaborators are enabling students to work with leaders in the professional opera and theater world, featuring the leadership of the Opera, The Rose, Omaha Area Youth Orchestras, the Camerata Choir of the Nebraska Choral Arts Society, and Skinner Magnet Elementary School.

In addition to his work in opera, Sir Richard Rodney Bennett is best known for his cabaret music, jazz and film scores, including the Oscar-nominated score for Murder on the Orient Express and Four Weddings and a Funeral. Sir Richard has a long-standing relationship with Opera Omaha Artistic Director, Stewart Robertson. Robertson’s recording of Sir Bennett’s The Mines of Sulphur was nominated for a Grammy this past winter as Best Opera Recording.

Presented in collaboration with The Rose Theater, the Omaha Area Youth Orchestras , the Camerata Choir of the Nebraska Choral Arts Society, and Skinner Magnet Elementary School.
