Opera Omaha is looking for area students ages 16 and above who are interested in all aspects of producing opera – from production to marketing. Positions include Assistant Stage Manager, Production Assistant, Wardrobe Assistant and Marketing Assistant
Assistant Stage Manager
The Assistant Stage Manager is responsible for organizing the flow of the production and for keeping everything running smoothly. He or she works closely and communicates with the Stage Director, Stage Manager, Stagehands and cast.
Production Assistant
The Production Assistant gets a chance to develop all sorts of skills by being responsible for various aspects of the production. The jobs of a Production Assistant may be relegated to odd jobs and various administrative tasks. Duties may include, but are not limited to, obtaining items, filing, acting as a courier, photocopying, Word processing, and making telephone calls. The Production Assistant works closely with the Technical Director and Stage Manager.
Wardrobe Assistant
In consultation with the Wardrobe Coordinator, the Wardrobe Assistant is responsible for supervising all wardrobe related activities during the course of the production. He or she helps determine where and how changes in costume are to be made and whether or not a quick change must be executed backstage or in the dressing room. The Wardrobe Assistant may also assist the Wardrobe Coordinator in constructing the costumes for the production.
Marketing Assistant
The Marketing Assistant helps the marketing department advertise the production to the general public, either by helping process ticket orders, hanging posters, or by giving additional administrative support. The Marketing Assistant works closely with the marketing department and box office.

Rehearsals are held at various locations in the community. Performances are typically held at the Orpheum Theater. Opera Omaha’s administrative office is located at 1625 Farnam, within walking distance of the Orpheum.
Compensation
