Theme:
All poems must be on the theme of an historical event, as the contest is in conjunction with Opera Omaha’s world premiere production of The Blizzard Voices, based on the poetry of Ted Kooser, about the blizzard of 1888.
Poem Length / Maximum Lines:
Elementary School: 20
Middle School: 20
High School: 100
Adult: 100
Entry Limit:
A maximum of 2 entries per person
Originality:
All poems must be original works by the entrants
Participation:
Original poems can be submitted any time by filling out the “entry form"
Student Deadline:
All student poems (Elementary - High School) must be received by May 15, 2008
Adult Deadline:
All adult poems must be received by August 1, 2008 |
