Aida Around Town
Opera Omaha is thrilled to be included in two of Omaha’s most beautiful and time-honored events; the Cathedral Flower Festival and the Laurtizen Garden’s Spring Flower Show.
The Cathedral Flower Festival run from January 25th through the 27th, 2008 and honors Opera Omaha on its 50th anniversary. Aida designer Catherine Ferguson will present a lecture on the Opera’s flower motif and other design inspirations.
Lauritzen Garden’s annual Spring Flower Show opens January 11 and runs through May 11. See Ferguson's extraordinary applications of Egyptian-inspired blue lotus imagery as well as the garden's interpretation of the Nile and its lush and tropical plant life. The indoor floral show was designed around original artwork created by Catherine Ferguson. Dramatic elements of the striking exhibit incorporate larger-than-life imagery used in Ferguson's set and costume design for Aida.
