Twelve Days of Carmen–Day Eight

Day Eight: October 28, 2013

Despite its popularity, Carmen is a true masterpiece. The composer created powerful themes and uses them to perfection. Today, Jonathan Burton sings the Flower Song with piano accompaniment. The fate theme played by English Horn introduces the aria. Jose describes his two months in jail and the haunting image of Carmen.
